Our Program

Student Plantation Scheme (2005–2007)

Student Plantation Scheme (2005–2007)

In collaboration with the Department of Forest, Government of Bihar
From 2005 to 2007, Prawah partnered with the Forest Department to promote environmental awareness among school children. Saplings were distributed to students, encouraging them to plant and nurture trees at identified sites. The initiative inspired young minds to actively participate in ecological conservation and fostered a culture of environmental responsibility.

Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV

Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV

Prawah tracked and supported HIV-positive pregnant women in districts like Purnia, Motihari, Champaran, and Siwan. The program aimed to prevent HIV transmission from mother to child through the timely administration of antiretroviral drugs. Regular monitoring and awareness ensured safer childbirth outcomes and better maternal health.

Capacity Building of Women Elected Representatives

Capacity Building of Women Elected Representatives

(PRI Initiative – Panchayati Raj Elections)
Women elected in local governance bodies were trained by Prawah to build leadership capacity. The training empowered them with knowledge about governance, legal rights, and community development, enabling them to contribute effectively to local decision-making and administration.

ASHA Worker Training

ASHA Worker Training

Under the Government of India Health Modules
Prawah facilitated module-based training for ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers. The sessions focused on maternal health, immunization, hygiene, and public health outreach. The goal was to equip ASHAs with the necessary knowledge and skills to serve rural communities more effectively.

By strengthening the capacities of ASHAs, this initiative helped bridge the gap between rural populations and the public health system, fostering healthier communities across the region.
