Vasudha Gupta
Ms. Gupta had 23 years of experience in social sector for non-profit organization;
the relevant experience has revolved around working with networks, communities,
women, youth & children through various governance, civil societies/NGOs and CBO
structures.
Started her journey from Janani project Bihar & Jharkhand in which we focused on
Women Right’s regarding the family planning decision, that a Women should be a decision
maker weather she will bear her child or not “Right to her Body” so we created an
awareness regarding family planning gave proper knowledge about contraceptive pills,
awareness for STD care & AIDS care through camps & social networking in Patna where
we trained 1500 RMPs (Rural medical practioners).
To protect women’s reservation right in Panchayat she initiated The HUNGER project
where 33% of reservation of women was initiated through movement from panchayat
to parliament especially for those women who were bearing two children’s and according
to Government guidelines those women’s can’t fight the election, they demolished
that statement with this move in collaboration with Union Minister Sri Mani Shankar
Ayer. For this a huge campaign was held and as a result 5000 women representative
got elected for entire Bihar and Memorandum was provided to Sri Mani Shankar Ayer.
Next area of concern was UNICEF Bihar Designing and implementation of communication
for development (C4D) interventions within the Polio Eradication initiative towards
enhancing access and acceptance of the polio vaccine within the underserved communities.
Thereafter, she was involved in fellowship program, under David & Lucile PACKARD
Foundation they chose 25 visionary leaders from all over India to take fellowship
program in Asian & African countries and they were assigned in Dhaka & Malaysia
to work on Women’s issues, there she was mentoring with Nari Pokko organization
in Dhaka and worked on HIV+ve, Sex workers, and acid attack victims.
In continuation with this, she headed the entire ASHA Program under National Rural
Health Mission, (Ministry of Health and Family welfare, India/Uttrakhand & Bihar)
where we trained more than 100000 Women community health worker called Asha’s on
different health sector modules and 500 diverse professional was there for their
training purpose.
She have also worked for Old age home in Telengana and presently implementing Skill
India Program for health courses affiliated under Health Sector Skill Council) under
Bihar Skill Development Mission to train Women’s, as according to current scenario
female workforce participation rate (WPR) in India stands at 31.8%, which is almost
half of the male WPR at 73.2%. Improving participation of women in the workforce
would require improvements in access and quality of education, skill development
and employment opportunities available to women. We at PRAWAH Trust (a social organization)
was curbed in 2016 to implement Skill India training in Bihar especially to pull
out backward society of women to empower them with skill training in health sector
along with placement support so as they will be an independent women.
At PRAWAH she had also done a Seminar in CRPF campus for Martyr’s Wife and their
Children’s too aware them regarding skill training and resulted IG of CRPF Madam
Charu Sinha given us opportunity to work on naxalities area of Bihar, Munger , Jamui,
Gaya, Mokama.
